All That You Want To Know About Weighing Scale Manufacturers

The weighing scale is one of the earliest tools devised by mankind. Be it weighing fruits or heavy trucks, weighing scales can be used for all practical purposes. This article will explore more about the weighing scale as well as the significant changes the manufacturers have gone through with time.
History of the weighing scale

The weighing scale is being used ever since 1800 B.C. in the Indus River Valley. The earliest known evidence of weighing stones was in the form of cuboidal stones, in different shapes and sizes. Weighing scale has since then, evolved from the candle stick scales, beam scales, stick scales and finally the modern day electronic scales. The weighing scale manufacturers of today have a lot to thank the great inventor Leonardo Da Vinci for his contributions to the modern day scales.
The Weighing scale manufacturing industry

The 2 different principles of weighing categorize the weighing scale industry into producing 2 types of scales. Thus, the market has two different sets of weighing scale manufacturers. Thus, there are 2 kind of weighing scale makers i.e. electronic and mechanical scale makers.

Mechanical Scales

Be it the household users or transportation agents, the mechanical scales are used in numerous applications. These scales come in 3 varieties.

Spring Scale: The spring scale measures the gravitational pull acting on the object in form of the tension in the wire. The manufacturers have to prevent the creeping in of errors from 2 different sources. The first, the measurement is dependent on the strength of the local force of gravity, varying by as much as 0.5% at different locations on Earth, and second being the changes in the elasticity of measurement with increase or decrease of room temperature.
Pendulum balance scales: There are some scales that do not use springs The dual advantage of these scales are their ease of use and error free application.
Hydraulic or pneumatic scale: These scales are expensive and so are mostly custom made on demands of the transportation companies. These are very helpful to lift extremely heavy objects and weights without much of troubles.

Electronic Scales

Household customers find electronic scales easier to use, and thus are sold more. Although the profit margins on these scales are low, the manufacturers recuperate the margins through the sales volumes. There are various types of electronic scales, namely:

Micro-balance:Weights as small as a million part of a gram can be measured by a microbalance. These scales are used in labs and pharmaceutical companies.
Analytical Balance: They should be mounted on flat surfaces, free of any vibrations, and are very accurate and precise in their measurements. To cater to small errors, manufacturers provide a built in calibration tool.
Supermarket/retail scale: These scales find usage in departmental stores to weigh seafood, meat, vegetables etc.. The scale manufacturers often have year-long contracts with retail chains such as Wal-Mart. These scales are multi-purpose and can tag RFIDs, print labels and marks.

Thus over the years, the weighing scale manufacturers have evolved a lot and now produce simple yet accurate weighing scales.

Don’t forget to look for the reputation of the weighing scale manufacturers before you buy from them. You can even ask for the price quotes online and make your decision without much of troubles.
